iPod How do you watch video from iPod as external HD?

My five year old powerbook is very low on space and I only have room for 2 or 3 tv shows downloaded from iTunes. When I am done I put them on my iPod as an external HD. Is there a way to plop all my shows back in iTunes and watch them on my iPod with out the computer trying to copy them to my computer hard drive?

This would make my life a lot easier. Thanks in advance.

Why don't you import them to your via iTunes (instead of as an external). That way you can view them from your iPod through iTunes.

you can turn off the option to copy the files to your itunes directory and than import them when they are copied to the ipod as a hard drive.

you can tell it to open using quicktime.
