Just curious about how your wives, husbands, parents or anyone else in your home feel about you spending time on MR. Who lives with you (girlfriend, spouse, roomate, parents, etc.), and what are some comments they make, or how do they view MR?

My wife rolls her eyes when I have her come look at a particular thread, etc. She thinks it is kind of funny that I'm a complete computer dork and all.

Although I don't read/post as much when I am at home with her, do some of you, and what do they think about it?

Just curious.

GF doesn't know/care...I'm here on my own time anyway, it's not like I'm posting on MR while we're otherwise engaged.

or am I? *shifty eyes*

My wife thinks skunk, IJReilly, jsw and Sunbaked are funny. Sunbaked hasn't been around of late.

I get the same response... Whenever she sees me on here she says why don't you come spend time with me. After a long day I like to read and surf the net. Oh well.

Well I am at college so no one really bugs me. My roommate thinks it is weird how much time I spend on here but he doesnt care.

When I had a girlfriend and lived at home, I was part of a car forum and was constantly on it. My parents and girlfriend would make fun of me for spending so much time on it. They just never understood.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

I'd give all you guys up for a girlfriend. But in absence of one right now, meh...

You wouldn't know what to do without us. You would come crawling back on your knees.

Nice Thread!

Everytime I'm on MR, my wife rolls her eyes and say, "Not again..."

But she enjoys hearing from me the new Mac products and advices I get from MR!:D

My girlfriend is a Mac girl, so she doesn't mind that i spend time here. She spends just as much time on her computer, surfing the web, and since we live in different apartments across town, we tent to text chat a lot. I always have one tab open to MacRumors, then the rest open for whatever actual work I am doing.

Mom thinks it's pretty cool.
Friends think it's pretty cool or laugh if I get on @ school.
The invisible boyfriend doesn't give a sh*t. :(

My girlfriend likes it when I update her on all the latest rumors in the Mac world. She doesn't usually roll her eyes, but when she's busy with something else and I interupt her, I get a 360 degree roll. She's a member here, but has only posted a few times.

With only 0.88 posts a day she not bothered. It's the other forum, I go on, with 50.79 posts a day (down by 5 ppd due to going back to work) she's concerned about.

Whenever I'm browsing MR at home, my girlfriend will say something along the lines of 'Are you on that chatline again?'. She has invented a whole host of mysterious women that I'm having affairs with, and will ask 'How's Hilda?' or 'What's Mavis up to today?'.

When she's not mucking around though, she quite likes MR, particularly the Design and Graphics and Photography forums. She is an art teacher and some of the discussions/links in there have proved quite helpful.

wife understanding, if a bit patronizing

don't get much grief about spending time here, but my wife does think it's a bit odd. Of course, she collects baskets, which is also kind of odd. We're a good match.

Really? I got wireless in my home to surf MR from my bed, and have an LCD placed behind the bed, and one on the ceiling so that I don't miss any of the action.
