How does a time machine backup work - does it just restore files it knows has changed

    If I decide to revert my drive back to what it was a week ago using time machine, will it replace EVERYTHING clean or will it simply adjust the files that have changed since that time?

    it will take the files it has backed up and replace all of them

    oh, and does it change anything w/ the bootcamp partition at all or does it leave that as is?

    it will leave the bootcamp partition completely alone.
