How does apple care work?

Got it with my Early 08 mac pro.

How many times can you use it? Is there a limit?

My computer has been making a weird noise since I got it but it comes and goes. Its starting to get on my nerves a bit. Was thinking about using the apple care for it. Will they come to my house? or do I have to bring it into a store?

It's 3 years unlimited telephone support, and technical support, within the realms of manufacturer's warranty, from the date of purchase.

I think it's best to take it into a Store just so you have some knowledge of where the Mac is and what's happening to it, rather than have it shipped to some depot somewhere (which is what I guess happens over the phone - they sent a UPS truck out in my experience)
