How does apple replace the Retina display?

I am getting a free replacement screen for my Retina display 15 inch MacBook Pro.

What do they replace exactly? Just the display or the metal frame too?

They replace the entire display assembly (metal frame included).

Just had my 2015 13" MBP done on Monday (again). You'll be getting the entire top half replaced.
