Okay, so I downloaded MSN messenger, right? Right. I deleted the download. files and keep the MSN on my dock.
But when I delete my download files it deletes the program? I tried moving the .dmg file to applications but it displays a circle with a big X on it. Help!

Wait, I think I fixed it.

Good, but if you haven't figured it out yet, here is the macrumors guide to installing applications.

Basically, what you are missing is double-clicking on the dmg package. Do that and you will see marvelous things!

Might I suggest NOT using MSN, but instead use Adium.

True - MSN is probably a bad choice.

OP - that section that has the installation guide also contains uninstall directions.

    But why?
I don't use any other applications, just MSN, and maybe iChat in my future. So why install something that allows me to use dozens of applications I will not use?

Uh, Adium isn't dozens of applications. It supports many IM networks yes, but you can use it for only MSN, and it will behave accordingly.

The poster above, as well as myself, suggest Adium because it is simply a better program, plain and simple.

Adium was crafted by the Gods for us mere mortals to use.

Like this person said, you may not use all those other networks (I only use AIM as I don't see a point in even registering for MSN, Yahoo!, or whatever and while I have a gmail account there's no need to use google talk), but you'll be much better off using Adium instead of the MSN client.

Alrigty boys, you know more than I do period.
So, i'm going to give Adium a try.
    I'm getting a "mount" (What's this?) error.
    It says, "codecc overrun"

    Thanks
