Depends on where you are
When you are outside, iPad is definitely better, with LTE, it has a much short "ready time".

But when you are home or at office, MacBook surely is better for some heavy duty browsing

This depends on whether you use your iPad *with* a keyboard for productivity tasks, which I do. I only remove the keyboard when I'm standing up, doing something passive like watching a movie, or where it would get in the way (e.g. using iPad whilst eating on a very small table)

Most web-sites that I use appear as the full desktop site on an iPad, and those that don't by default normally have a link to the full site somewhere on the page. No difference that I can see apart from a little less screen real-estate.

Well, if you are asking for feedback from people who have both an iPad and the rMB (which I am) I can state that using the internet, for me, is much easier on the rMB. I do not care much for the internet experience with an iPad or any mobile device. If possible I always use a desktop. Of course, this all depends on the sites a user is visiting. To be a desktop gives the full internet, mobile devices do not. It is also harder to type on an iPad (most people don't have a keyboard).

My two cents from someone who has multiple Apple devices and uses them regularly.
