How does the 30" Cinema Display stand up today?

If I could get a 30" ACD for say, £500, would that be a good deal? Just wondering how that display matches up to it's 30" competitors today.

I've always loved it, it was comfortable to work on for very extended periods. Unfortunately mine died so I don't have one any more, but my colleague still uses his and it looks great. £500 is probably about right if it still gives enough brightness and the backlight is even.

My biggest concern would be worrying that it would die on me. Those are going to be old displays now.

Do they have a tendency to die after a certain amount of time?

Mines been in almost daily use now for 5 years and still going strong.
