I want to get the new iPhone 11 Pro and take advantage of Apple's offer to let me trade in my iPhone XS Max. This will get the price down to $399.00. But is that what I will actually pay up front? Or will they charge my card for the full amount and then give me the trade in money once they receive the phone?

From my understanding, you will pay full price, send The phone to Apple, and then you will receive the money in form of a refund to your card.

Even if you trade in the phone at the apple retail store?

If you take your phone to the store you will get the refund then and there on the spot. But you might want to first order the new phone while it is till in stock

Excellent, thanks! My daughters iPhone 7+ has the dreaded IC chip problem so I’m either getting her an iPhone 8+ or XR, so no issue getting an in stock phone.

following, thinking of doing iphone x for 400 and buy an pro.

also wondering the same thing on how trade in will work on over all bill.

and also not sure if small chip on side of the phone body matter, as it ask for major stuff.

Smart money says to trade it in at a store, if possible. That results in an instant credit applied to the new purchase, or credit placed on an Apple Gift Card to spend however one likes.

If sent in, it will be examined, then a verdict on the value rendered, which is not always consistent with the expectations of the owner.

The job of the people staffing an Apple store is to move product, not go over trade-ins with a fine-toothed comb, so as long as there are no obvious flaws, it is more likely to receive a more favorable valuation.

You will be good with a little chip. They just don’t want large cracks.

What if you’re on Att Next can I still trade it in and get value at the Apple store?
