I want to get the MagSafe Battery Pack to help with more battery for my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Apple says it charges automatically, so how does this work?

if my phone is on 50% or 70% charge, and the MagSafe charges automatically, what percentage will it charge too? How does it pick up when my phone needs charging?

Cheers.

Yes it’s automatic. Stick it to the phone and it wirelessly start charging @5w Thing is it will stop charging at 90% from whatever state of charge your battery is. I think you can override this feature not 100% sure. Since it’s charging @ 5w it will be a slow charge and if you’re using the phone while using the battery pack the phone battery will discharge instead of charging. For the 12 max you should get around 40% back of charge.
At about 50% stick the battery on the phone and leave the phone alone while it’s charging until it goes up to 90%. You can also use the battery pack as a magsafe wireless charger at 15w while plugged in with a lightning to Usc C cable with the proper charger 20w or up. For other Qi compatible devices it should be 5w.

Yes it's Automatic. It will charge the phone up to 90% and then it will stop charging. I do notice that once in a while it does charge full.
