Hi,
I plan to buy a Macbook Pro with a notch and I have a 16 to 10 external screen. I will mostly be using the external screen.
I haven't seen any photos of it (the external screen) yet.

What does the display look like? Are there any photos of it?

Yes, but the new Macs have a different resolution (3024 x 1964). This is no longer 16 to 10 like the 13 Macbook Pro (2560 x 1600) for example.

What does the MacBooks resolution have to do with an external display?!
Maybe they mean if you are mirroring the MacBook's display to an external display or TV? Then I think the pixels where the notch would be just get drawn in normally, same as in screenshots.

I take it you've never used a Mac with an external screen? Each display can have its own resolution unless you are in mirror mode in which case you can choose which display to scale.

The notch is hardware not software, baba.

In mirror mode, you can select which display to optimize for. If you select to optimize for your laptop's display, the external display will have the thicker menubar, but there will be no black in the middle. On most displays, you will have black bars on the left and right sides of the external display.

If you select to optimize for the external display, you'll have the classic thin menubar and the image will fill the external display. On my 16:9 display, the internal display will show black bars on the top and bottom, and the notch is hidden in these bars. Since the MacBook is 16:10 below the notch, the notch should still be hidden when mirroring with a 16:10 display.

What happens if your external display has a narrower aspect ratio (such as 4:3) than the internal one is left as an exercise.

If you aren't mirroring, the external display uses the classic menubar while the internal (if you have the lid open) uses the fat one.

Maybe I have to wait until Apple is releasing a screen with a big fat disgusting notch.

I can´t live without.

But you're missing the software that makes the menus behave differently around the notch.
THAT is actually the only question here:

Some applications have suuuuuuper wide menus. Like Davinci Resolve. Here the menu bar displays stuff on the left hand side of the notch, then skips over the notch, then renders the next items on its right side.
What happens... if you mirrored THAT?!
Will the external display show an empty space in the menu bar, or not?!

Well, I don't have any apps with a stupid number of menus, but I can turn the display scaling down to get there with Safari and...

What are you trying to proof with your picture? You are mirroring your internal display to the external screen.
Obviously if some App takes the notch into account and spaces out the menu, that will be mirrored to your external display as well. On the other hand, there also are apps that render their menus behind the notch without the space.

In any case, not mirroring your internal display and using it as such, you won't have any sign of the notch rendered in your menu bar.

Thanks. That answers my question.
It COULD have been... that altho mirrored... wait... could Apple have changed it?
Probably not... because if you try to click the (as per your screenshot) window menu... you could be using EITHER display...
So it HAS to stay in one spot.
Errr... anyhow. It was early in the morning when I asked the question :D Wasn't fully awake yet.
But still thanks for testing it!
