How does Time Machine work?

so this means we shouldn't include our porn folder if we're prone to downloading/deleting fairly often? lol
 
ok heres my question. if time machine automatically updates what you do... if you make a mistake or delete something wont time machine update what you did and make the mistake or delete it on the external hd?
