Carrier How does unlocked cellular iPad Pros work?

So, I’ve never had a cellular iPad Pro before, but due to my current circumstances I might need to get one instead of just the Wi-Fi model. How do the unlocked models work exactly as I have no idea on how to even begin to set one up? Would it be better to just order one through my cell provider which is AT&T that I have my iPhone with?

Yes, it supports eSIM in combination with nano-SIM.

It has a built-in esim, and a nano sim slot. You can choose to use either one, but unlike iPhones, you can’t use both.

The iPad SIMs are data-only. Afaik, you can't do simultaneous data on iPhones, either.
