Sorry, what are these "lucky bags" that people keep bringing up? Sounds like a gift bag of goodies of some sort.

Early!

If you get there early, you can be first in the door and have a chance at getting Free/Cheap stuff! Usually there are free t-shirts. Sometimes there are free or paid "Lucky Bags". There is also the possibility of making your local evening news if a news crew happens to be there.

You have to at least go for the T-shirt. :)

These appearently were gift bags full of Apple **** that were given out/sold at other, previous store openings. I'm guessing for the flagship stores. They were nonexistant at this opening. :/

They were generally sold rather than given out - and they weren't that cheap in the London. £250 for £700 of stuff although much of it was software that you might already own or didn't need. I think I really only got about £300 that I wanted so it was a good deal but not a great one!

It started from a Japanese tradition and I think they are now the only place still doing it - but in a lesser way - smaller purchases/smaller gifts.
