You can get a 2TB option on an iPad Pro, which makes sense because people use it for work, but since so much is done on an iPhone, do you think a 2TB option is that far away...?

Does it make sense to expect it with the USB-C model coming up? I'm interested in what people think, especially those who have watched these cycles of upgrades for longer than I have.

2TB iPhone is still pretty stupid imo compared to 2TB iPad, despite iPhone having better camera than iPad by a long shot. I applaud the effort for some people to make iPhone their ONLY computing device, but that should not be the case if data safety is of any level of concern, even with USB-C port with USB 3/USB 4 speed.

As soon as the 128GB option is removed, the 2TB option will become available. To me, that will be next year. Maybe $100 or $200 increase on the Pro models with a starting storage of 256GB.

In my mind I thought storage typically increased every 3 years. I haven’t gone back to check though. I was definitely hoping for 2 TB. I like to keep Optimize Photos off so that videos and Live Photos play right away. Meh, I’ll admit it it, as someone who used to live in the world of 80k floppy disks having a phone with storage measured in TBs just makes me giggle.

If USB-C is coming, 2TB is around the corner. Content creators who will want to shoot ProRes will want it the most. 4K HDR shot in ProRes uses 6GB per minute. 1TB is kind of the bare minimum for creators.
