A lot of questions in this forum are answered with "take it (back) to the Apple store / Genius bar" so I started wondering if most people on MacRumors live quite close to an Apple store.

Please vote with your one-way travel time (non-rush hour) and then post your actual time.

Thanks - Greg

one within 20min (even in Miami traffic) and another further south (maybe 30min)

:D

You are fast answering (while I was creating the Poll) and nice and close.

My nearest on is in another city (Edmonton) and province. About 6 hours away.

Thanks - Greg

I have three Apple Stores near me. One that's >5 minutes away, another that's about 5 to 10 minutes away and the third is about 15 to twenty minutes away, pending on traffic.

I have two that are under 30 minutes and are most likely under 15 minutes depending on traffic lights and finding parking.

Apple Store
Fashion Valley Mall, San Diego, Ca (3.2 miles/5.1 KM)
UTC Mall, San Diego, Ca (4.5 miles/7.2 KM)

Closest one is in Austin.

But there is an AAFES Apple reseller about 10 min away.

I have one that is an Authorised Reseller of Apple products (Ideal Store) which is within 15 minutes away from me. There is also the big Apple Store which is in Sydney City and that is around 30minutes away by train.

15 minute walk to bus stop, 60 minutes on bus, 10 minutes to Apple Store. So it's not all that close! Even in the car it would be 45-60 minutes total.

Hours isn't a fair measure of distance. Closest is probably 90km away, but that could easily take three hours to get there as traffic in Switzerland is notoriously awful and there's no direct train.

This is actually a great question.

While Apple Stores are very prominent in urban areas, they can't be found everywhere. Although an Apple Store in the middle of nowhere wouldn't make sense, it would at least be helpful to have one in the largest town in the area.

Driving two hours is aggravating.

Nearest official Apple store (in Australia) is 300km away, in Sydney...

Nearest "unofficial" Apple Reseller/Repair Centre is 20 minutes away, in Fyshwick.

Spoiled: One within walking distance (Downtown Palo Alto), one within 10 minute drive (Stanford) and three more within 30 minute drive (San Mateo, San Jose, & Burlingame).

:D;):D:p:cool:

Oh and Apple HQ is about 15-20 minutes away.
