Hours isn't a fair measure of distance. Closest is probably 90km away, but that could easily take three hours to get there as traffic in Switzerland is notoriously awful and there's no direct train.

I chose time rather than distance because I wanted to see how much of a person's day it takes to go to the store. Can you do it on your lunch hour (<30 minutes one-way) or do you have to take a day off from work :) (>2 hours).

A distance of 50km could mean a half hour in one city or two hours in another so asking just the distance could be misleading.

Thanks for all the responses everyone.

At college I'm about 15-20 minutes, at home it's considerably farther away, but lately I've just been going to the 5th Ave one in new york when I happen to be in the city.

Four hours and 58 minutes for a distance of 343 miles. One way.

According to Google Maps.

All you "15-20 minutes" people can suck my big toe.

Spoiled: One within walking distance (Downtown Palo Alto), one within 10 minute drive (Stanford) and three more within 30 minute drive (San Mateo, San Jose, & Burlingame).

:D;):D:p:cool:

Oh and Apple HQ is about 15-20 minutes away.

Same for me it is really nice to have all of them right there.

Note that I have three in said range ;)

and that's not including the Mac Store five minutes away.

You quoted me before I added my Google bits. ;)

Actually, your stores were the closest before the one in Salt Lake opened up. My wife and I even took a weekend road trip to Portland and bought our PowerMac G5 at the Bridgeport Village Store before SLC opened.

It was a fun trip, went to the zoo and such. Plus saving on sales tax was nice too. ;)

Fun trip :) I feel a little spoiled living where I do. Portland sure is a great city.

Los Gatos - about 20 minutes away
Valley Fair & Oakridge - about 40 minutes away
Monterey - about 45 minutes away.
And the two Palo Alto stores about an hour away if I don't mind a little traveling.

Not bad :D

The Apple store nearest to my location is in the Pioneer Place mall in downtown Portland, OR. Usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes to get there if there is no traffic.

Do they have a store? I'm curious now lol

Yes, the Apple Company Store is on the Apple Campus, and has many of the same services as the retail stores. However, in addition to computers, they also sell Apple clothing.

Regular stores and the company store are completly different all you can get at the company store are hats, shirts, and other computer accesories. They don't sell computers or have any repair service.

Bullring, Birmingham.

15 minutes drive to train station.
30 minutes on train.
5 minutes walk to store.

It takes a similar amount of time to drive all the way there but it's cheaper and there's less hassle with parking going by train.

I wish there was an option before "under 30 mins". It's about a 5 minute drive to the nearest Apple store here. Works out great for me.

The closest one is about 15 mins away, driving on city streets. The other one is about 20-30 minutes, taking the highway.

One under 30 minutes, two about an hour away and two others probably 90 minutes away. (by train, driving through london would add HOURS to the journey)

Lakeside, Bluewater, Regent street, Brent Cross, White City.

For the ooohs and aaaaahs:
