This will be my first time pre-ordering from Apple, and I’m looking to get the 15PM. I’ve been through the Nvidia video card releases which sold out in seconds mainly thanks to bots.

How easy likely is it to secure a pre-order for a Pro if you’re sitting there refreshing when the pre-order time comes. Specifically for the pro models are all the pre orders basically gone within seconds/minute.

And are bots in the picture? Or is Apple pretty good about blocking them?

I have Applepay and they have my info so I hope I’d be good. Also just read they maybe send out an email after the event? Do you have to sign up for that?

Thanks

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: there will be a pre-pre order where we can set up all our info a few days in advance. Then on the morning of the pre-order, we continuously hit refresh starting about 10-20 mins before time. Last year it opened up 10 mins before. It was extremely frantic. Pro models sold out in 20 mins I believe. And sometimes there will be errors. We just need nerves of steel!

But other than that, it’s super fun! 😃

So when you go through the phone selection and choose all the options, and then hit Save for Later, is that basically all you need to do? Then Friday just what, keep hitting buy in your bag? Thanks

Pretty sure Pro Models were available for longer than 20 minutes...Where did they go live 10 minutes early? Wasnt Apple.

Yes. Last year mine went through at around 30 seconds and everything sold out in like 2 minutes. It was chaos. Mashing is the key.

You can do that, or you can "Get Ready for Pre-Order."

Select your model, color, storage, trade-in, payment option, connectivity, AppleCare+ coverage and then click "Get Ready for Pre-Order" in the bottom-right of the page. In my case it authorized my payment method and took an initial payment.

Then, on 9/15 you go to your account and select whether you want to pick it up or have it shipped to you.

If memory serves, "Save for later" only remembers your hardware selection and none of the AppleCare+, carrier, or trade in information so on 9/15 you would:
1. Go to your wishlist
2. Click "Buy"
3. Select trade-in, payment option, connectivity, AppleCare+ coverage
4. Enter payment and shipping info
5. Checkout

In short, "Get Ready for Pre-Order" is faster. 😁

Which screen should we be checking/refreshing, the pre-order I have saved / the iPhone pricing page / Apple Store homepage?

I did this earlier today for 2 iPhones.

Are you recommending we keep refreshing this saved pre-order on the day? This is the first time I've used this feature so not sure what happened last year.

It will be at top of the screen once you open the app. It’s like three clicks/acknowledgements from there.

It’s been a few years so I’m generally over prepared for these events. 😅

I:
- open the Apple Store on my iPhone and go to my account page (you should see that you have two devices saved there)
- open the Apple Store on my iPad and do the same
- navigate to my Account page on my Mac

The apps should send notification to you so make sure they’re enabled and and a Focus mode will let them through.

If you used Apple’s calendar invite, you’ll see each phone/invite has a unique link, too, which should also take you to the right spot.

I’m not sure if this is only a US thing but on the Canadian store and Store App it allows one to choose the phone, colour, storage, Apple Care, and then “Save for later”. Its weird because when you launch the app there is an ad at the top of the page for the iPhone 15 which basically says ”save time for the iPhone 15 pre-order” and that’s where you click and it lets you choose phone/finance/storage/AC.

Im hoping assuming that since I already have default payment methods setup as well as my shipping info that’ll auto populate… any fellow Canadians from previous launches can maybe chip in and let me know.

Apple pre-orders don't sell out per se... rather the delivery dates just slip into the future. The release day quanities tend to go quickly.

This is my first year doing the pre-pre-order thing. My last pre-order was an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and back then you had to add the device to your wishlist and then select the apple care stuff when the store opened and finish checkout. That cost time and lots of people ended up missing release day by a few weeks.

I'm curious to see how this one works. I'm hoping to select in-store pickup so I don't need to camp out waiting for UPS to come. For my iPhone 12 pro max the driver didn't show up till like 9:30pm.

For paid in full orders, will you be able to select in-store pickup? My last go-round 3 years ago you could only preorder for delivery.

What time on Friday does the pre order go live? I’m buying from T-Mobile with a JUMP upgrade, so I can’t buy from apple.
