When my hard drive is not clicking. It takes exactly 37.44 seconds for my computer to start up. Im running Snow Leopard in the 64 bit kernel.

My specs are

2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

4GB DDR3

250GB Hard drive 7200 rpm

512 MB video card and 256 MB shared video

I used my iPods stop watch to time it. I hope I posted this in the right place!

Mine loads the dock and opens the programs I have on open on login in about 20sec. That was me counting so could be a bit off!!!

Im running Snow Leopard with and OCZ SSD, the two together are so fast on a 2.0Ghz white macbook with 4Gb of ram.

Mine takes about 30 Seconds.

I have a white macbook. 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM. 250GB HDD (not sure of the speed though.) and... Intel GMA X3100 Graphics card. :D

Though I'm soon to buy 4GB for it. Once I see how much money I do actually have...

Those are pretty good start up speeds! When my hard drive keeps safety clicking on start up it takes anywhere from 58 seconds to a little over a minute

Cold start takes about 36 seconds and a reboot takes little under 30 seconds. Usually 28.

Thought I'd add. Shutdown times vary. Usually about 10 Seconds. or 6 Seconds. (I'd swear it took 4 Seconds once)

Wonder how long it'll take to have an OS that can boot up and shut down within a second...

When I first got my Intel Extreme SSD I got boot times that were less than 15 seconds, after that it levelled off at 17 seconds.

Recently however something weird has been going on ever since I installed Snow Leopard and boot times are almost 30 seconds now which is VERY SLOW for a SSD of this caliber.

EDIT: Shutdown times however have never changed for me with this SSD, they are never more than 1 to 2 seconds.

My spec is as shown below!

My start-up is between 25-28 seconds, for interest my shut-down is 3 seconds :D i am blown away by this as i have been putting up with the 5 minute slow go from Vista
