I have a MagSafe charger that was introduced with iPhone 12. At its introduction, it was touted as wirelessly charging at a certain wattage. As speeds/wattages increase, will my MagSafe keep up, or will I need to get a newer version to achieve any future faster charging?

Zero chance.

100% chance you will need to buy new pad and possibly new cables and AC adapter on top of a new device. Consider this is Apple who could have supported the hover feature in v2 Pencil on iPad Pro 3rd gen with backported software support but did not.

Charging involves electrical safety and tolerances so I'm not sure what the existing Apple thresholds are but they get certified for the Apple faster charging but don't automatically work with other faster (or future) standards like Qi3+++ and OnePlus/Oppo/Xiaomi etc proprietary standards.

It’s in Apple’s interest to reserve a compelling new (“better, faster”) standard to sell new products.

There you go.

New Apple event on Sept 9 (today) announced that you will have to buy new phones, new MagSafe pucks to support Qi2 and the faster charging standards.
