Was thinking of picking up a 13 mini and was just wondering how everybody is liking theirs 1 year or so later. I think I'd like a smaller device, I'm not a gamer and don't watch a lot of videos but would appreciate the pocketable size.
A couple of questions though:
Is there any issue with speaker quality or do they sound good? I had a regular 13 for a while and I thought the speakers were excellent, hoping for the same on the mini. I'm only a moderate user so battery life would probably be fine I would imagine.
Second question: what are the complaints if any?
TIA 😊

Have 13 mini with 12 mini as backup. No complaints with either as I am a light user. Take one on a test drive?

I'd say any iPhone from the past 3-4 years will be perfectly fine to buy and use as a main phone. A battery replacement might be useful at the 4-5 year old mark.

iPhones older than the iPhone XS should probably not be considered unless a specific low budget is being targeted

Thanks for the good info so far, appreciate it. After having the mini a year or more does anyone regret the small size? The mini would be the smallest screened phone I’ve had in years and while I think that would be fine considering my usage just curious if any others have had any regrets over the smaller size factor.

I adore it. Yeah I don’t have the best eyes but most of the time it’s really not an issue for me, plus the display density and compactness more than make up for any residual eye strain (which to be fair could also be from the OLED). The SE ‘22 is another great option if you feel like spending less, and in my opinion the LCD display is very comfy.

But the more modern design, expansive display, better speakers/cameras made the 13 mini the phone to keep, and I’ve been really happy with it for over a year now.

As long as you have good eyesight, the Mini is a decent size even for media consumption.

For example, I used an OGSE as my daily driver for around 9 months in 2022 and it is considerably smaller than the Mini. I did not miss having a larger screen and enjoyed watching TV shows on it despite the size. I even went through the entirety of over 50 different TV series on Netflix, Disney+ and Prime on that particular device. I have since upgraded to a regular 13 which is admittedly superior but the size difference does not blow me away even when I am using it for media consumption.

Again thanks for the comments. I decided to purchase a green 13 mini. Looking forward to getting it Tuesday and really looking forward to giving a smaller device a go. Also, will be getting a natural looking nice leather case. I know it covers the green color quite a bit but never have cared for the clear cases. I think it will look really nice. I'll have the mini for a week before the case arrives so will get a chance to enjoy it's greenness 😃

The only thing I can complain about is the heavy processing on images, but that is not really related specifically to that model. Otherwise very happy with mine.

Love mine, absolutely love it and wish a 15 mini will be available.

Battery health is at 99%, on light use and get two days before I have to charge. I love that I barely notice in my pocket and the camera is great. Given I feel my iPhone 11 took better pictures. Overall it has been my favorite phone of all time. Like every thing more battery life would be welcomed.

Now my aging eyes may have me move to something bigger eventually. Or really my stubbornness of using reading glasses cause of not coming to grips of aging.

Mine just arrived yesterday, and I’ve been enjoying it. For me, I think the best feature is the small size. This little phone is great! So easily fits in any pocket, Otherwise it’s just an iPhone but the small size is what makes it stand out to me. Was really getting tired of the larger devices. Had a regular 13 for a while, but it seemed a little too heavy and big. I also have a regular pixel 7 and it seems too big. I wish there were more selection of smaller phones, but this one should serve me well for a couple years anyway.
I can relate to the eyes thing you speak of. I’ve been around a while, and my eyes have gotten worse over time but had cataract surgery a few years ago and the new lens implants really fixed me up. Nice to be glasses free.

Just ordered one today, trading in my 12 mini which is down to 86% battery after a couple of years of constant use.
