I have an old 1st gen that has a port issue (really have to push hard on the cable to get it to register)

i was wondering if it was worth tinkering with (kinda just for fun)

Not sure, but if it's just an old first gen then you may as well give it a shot :) I would.

No point in doing this in my opinion. The iPod is really old by now.

I would get a new one. :apple:

i have a 4S, but I like having one that I can keep in the shower area all the time, and not have to worry about steam killing it.
