How hard is it to replace an iMac G4's Hard Drive?

I have an iMac G4 with a failed HD. I know this because it boots from my external drive. Does anyone know where I can find the Hard drive part # and a take-apart guide?

Definitely not a simple or pleasant task.

Use any off the shelf hard drive with a Parallel ATA plug. Beware, if you have one 2003 and older it may limit hard drive size to 128GB.

If I were you, I'd buy a good FireWire drive and live off that.

Remember you have to reapply the thermal grease when you reassemble the dome, or your machine will overheat. Best done by an experienced person.

i can apply the thermal grease, but that take-apart is lacks illustration.
anyone know of another?
