Can't see it being an issue.
I'd guess you'll be able to walk into the store and collect on the day (not pre-order day, but release day).

Me either especially cause it is $799 plus add ons and many folks are already happy with their iPads.

I think it also depends on where you live. I think large cities could see their stock wanting. However, small towns might fare better. Yeah they might get fewer iPads but the demand might be much lower.

Especially if they dont have a public announcement before its available. It could just be available next Wednesday without any fanfare and you could possibly walk right into a store and get one.

A lot of people are underestimating how crazy difficult this tablet is going to be to get......at least in 2015 that is.

You're going to have a lot of "Keeping up with the Joneses" who always want the latest and greatest. You're going to get a crowd of people looking for these as gifts for their spouses, family, kids, etc since the holidays are right around the corner. You're going to get people who really just want it because they are replacing a old iPad. Some who are looking just for a bigger screen in general. I mean, it goes on and on.

I'll say it right here......this thing will be impossible to get after day 1 of release/pre orders. Jump on it asap.

I'm getting this thing for 1 reason alone: fast, easy, and massive media consumption on my couch.

I doubt the market for it is too big, so that should tell us that it would be easier to get one.
However, Apple has said that it is being "conservative" with iPad Pro, so it's likely to have limited availability.

Thus, I would say that if you really want one this year, order within a few hrs of pre-order time and try the store at opening. I remember for iPad Air there were literally 10 people in line for it at the Berkeley 4th St store - iPad doesn't have as big a following as iPhone does.

If they'd just give us a release date, I plan to go directly to the Apple store nearest me that day and wait an hour or so before the store opens. I'd like to get the gold 128gb version. Hoping that queuing up an hour before is enough. I'm starting to think preorder is not going to happen this time around.

That entirely depends upon what Apple is expecting, making too few available for release and underestimating demand then I agree.

BUT this is $799 plus accessories and folks already have MacBooks and iPads. And I don't care what others have to tell the truth so that is probably moot for most people.

What increases demand is folks know they can try it and return it so there is nothing to lose. That in itself will make demand rise somewhat. But when it comes down to "do I really want to spend the money for this and keep it" will be the telling factor down the road for demand.

There was a report a while ago about Apple being conservative with their initial iPad Pro production order. So we already know that early availability will be limited.

I think there is that and also the documented supply issues for the screen.

But when it comes down to "do I really want to spend the money for this and keep it" will be the telling factor down the road for demand.

That is going to be the big one ... I have had a number of iPads (iPad 1/2/3/Mini/Air/Air 2) so I know what I am looking for and have decided that the value proposition for a 128GB LTE iPad Pro will work for me and my use cases. But for most people I know, an iPad Mini 2 (or my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4) will totally meet their needs ...

I completely agree. This thing will sell out immediately and the scarcity will only drive the scalping market for it.

I reckon it will sell big time. Could be huge! I have an Air 2 but I want one
of these for some weird reason. Wifi only for movie watching etc.

Like Apple holding back which is creating ants in one's pants? :)

Same here, I don't need it but Apple keeps beating the drums.

Right! Look at the Watch. HUGE demand, crazy feeding frenzy, and for what? :D

This is at least useful. Could get ugly.

Anyways, you can always return it or back out later.

This affliction has been going on for years. I can't wait for a new major Apple
launch whatever it is. Not over excited about iPhones but anything else just
gets the juices going. Can't help it. Bring on the Pro!

Okay I realize how ridiculous this must sound but here it goes anyway. Hope no on takes this seriously as I'm just trying to "lighten" the mood this week.
I have never seen UPS delivery trucks out on a Sunday but today I saw a caravan of 3 UPS trucks on the interstate today (this part is the truth). So, my guess is that they were delivering the iPad Pro to the Apple Store or Retailers.
Okay, slam away . . . LOL

UPS is an insane union shop, they would go out of business before they lift a finger on the weekend. I bet you someone stole those trucks.

Could be just about anything. I'm thinkin iPads though, is pretty far down on the list.

So you are now seeing iPads everywhere? Is there a name for this?

I work for Ups. We only run Next Day Air Saturday packages on Saturday. Some areas on Sunday there will be movement but no deliveries. October 15th to January 15th are considered peak season and they will move packages 7 days a week so there is no delay. The Amazon craziness we had that Christmas a few years ago changed the way we push packages. I'm not answering any questions about Ups because I'm just a warehouse worker/driver and have zero information about any Apple products.

Going to be a very interesting week. I reckon the 11th but who knows.

I always prefer to buy from an Apple retail store as I have two local to
me in Bristol. Very lucky in that respect.

I have an Air 2 which is fantastic and highly recommended but a bigger faster version is very tempting. New toy at the end of the day!
