Obviously there was a significant weight add to the 6s+ over the 6+. 7 was a bit lighter 6+, but then iPhone 8+ got even more heavy. How much do you feel is too heavy? What is the threshold beyond which it becomes too tiring to hold?

Has anyone got the 8+ after using 7+ and felt that it has gotten too heavy?

I am not so "sure" Maybe this year's iPhone gained extra weight due to Glass back and added wireless charging hardware

Only on a tech forum would somebody discuss the difference of weight between the iPhone 7 Plus and 8+. In the real world, most don't talk about or would even notice the difference in the weight between those two model iPhones. It's a non-issue.

For the record, the IPhone 7 Plus weighs 188 g and the iPhone 8 Plus weighs 202 g.

You're 100% correct. The added weight came from the glass backing and the internal wireless charging hardware.

Honestly, come from a 7, I find the X a tad too heavy. But I run with my phone so every gram matters.

Don't know if the extra weight is from the battery for the glass back. Hopefully the back an Apple can shed that design and weight.

Everyone’s going to be different and it’s not all the weight. The centre of gravity can have as big an effect as can how big your hands are, the bigger they are the easier it is to hold them (in general.)

With my Plus I wouldn’t have complained if it were 50% thicker and 50% heavier, I barely notice the weight as it is. My wife on the other hand (pun intended) really struggled with it because of her tiny little woman hands.

One thing we can probably be sure of, whichever we prefer, Apple don’t give a damn. They’ll make what they want to and what they consider best, just like they always do.

we're not in the early 90's to consider whichever phone "heavy".

subtle changes are normal. if +X grams are too much, people should consider a trip to the local gym...
Except that Apple themselves do everything possible to shave off grams. Even a couple grams is perceptible.

I️ can picture you in a meeting with Ive and team. They suggest switching to some lighter casing material to shave off two grams. “Jony, let’s just stick with what we’ve got. I️ mean if people can’t handle a couple extra grams then they need to hit the gym.”

What a simpleton, non-dynamic way to think. I’m glad you’re not part of the Cupertino meeting rooms.

Grams matter. To Apple and to consumers. Hence, the OP’s topic.

Sorry, but 100% disagree. The weight of the device is a key factor for a lot of people, including me. It affects a lot of your daily activities and the overall handling of the device significantly. I know a lot of people who even try to use a light weight case, just to get rid of a few extra grams.

It’s the ebb and flow and not much you can do about it. New tech has new requirements which will be refined in the later generations. If mass is that much of a problem, there are other models...

Meh, weight has never mattered to me. I’m sure Apple would of made it lighter if they could. One thing many have mentioned is when holding the X, it feels like a premium product. I think the weight lends to that perception. Light things feel cheap

Not Sure why you would need to apologize.
However, If the weight matters to you, that's your preference. But for the majority, they likely are not going to notice the difference between the two iPhones. And I think about how far we have come in technology where phones are today, there isn't much to complain about the weight of a device that's less than an inch thick and more powerful than the computer 10 years ago. To each their own.

How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?

How many times a day do I think of you?
How many roses are sprinkled with dew?

How far would I travel
To be where you are?
How far is the journey
From here to a star?

And if I ever lost you, how much would I cry?
How deep is the ocean?
How high is the sky?

I went from a 6 (one of the lightest iPhones) to the 8+ (the heaviest). I have never considered the 8+ to be tiring to hold, or given much thought to the weight at all. I've really never understood why some people consider this to be an issue.

I'm still using the 7+, but after messing with my roommate's 8+, I kinda like the feel of the 8+ (and the X which has a similar feel). Those extra grams seem to make the phone seem more tangible.

This is a condescending comment There are people who have health issues that may cause some discomfort or flare up of a medical condition. You need to look at the bigger picture and realize that not everyone is the same.

I understand that. But we’re talking about mobile phones...not bricks.
And the variation between phones of this size/display size is negligible.
We’re talking about a few grams (less than 80-100, in extreme cases).

But yes, I can imagine that for people with health issues, 1 kg (not gram) more or less may be important.

And yet those people probably don't even notice. Good thing theres people like you to watch out for them.
