How hot is your cpu while gaming?

    In particular can anybody give me a temp readout on their penryn mbp, when playing wow.

    rychencop, you must be mistaken. at temps of 1500-2800, your entire laptop would be facing meltdown, and, heck, your whole house/office with it. I believe it's enough to even melt human body parts.

    wow those sound kind of hot, my 17inch 2.6 gets to like 78C when i play at the highest res. Also i limit my frames a little but if I keep my fps limited to 30 then my computers stays around 68C.

    is playing at 80C-90C for several hours damaging to the cpu or mbp?

    I get about 75-85c. I have also left my system rendering for a few days and was at these temps...no issues what so ever. the penryns are so much cooler than my 1st gen core duo MBP.

    My mbp sr run about 80 degrees celcius when I was playing Age of Empire III,but it basicly the same with the other game since it trigger a lot of processor power

    Surfing while using a 1500 degree hot MBP is not recommended by Apple. For starters you will cause some nasty burns on your body if you drop it in the water by mistake and the water vaporises...

    how do you even measure heat? a widget or something?

    Sure, but I tend to play on the safe side. Also it hurts my thighs at that temp!
