iPhone How is iOS 8 on the 5s?

I want to know if I should leave my jailbreak to upgrade to iOS 8. If it I should just stay on it

It's slow. I reverted back to iOS 7 in a day.

It's perfectly fine. Mine seems snappier on GM, but that probably will have been because the beta's were slower than 7.1.

Touch ID is faster for sure, but sometimes opening apps pauses for a quick instant before opening as does multitasking.

My general rule of thumb is to stay on the iOS that the phone came with, for the best speed. I'll update to iOS 8 if they speed it up to almost iOS 7.1.2 speed and when some bugs are fixed.

Usually something else might be in play. Try closing all apps and restarting the phone. Check background refresh as well.

That said, after a new install a lot of things are being downloaded if you did is a restore rather than just an upgrade.

So far after a few hours of use, no complaints using the GM.

I did a fresh install as well because I know backups sometimes cause issues.

Battery life is just fine for me. 8hrs of standby and 3hrs of screen on time at 39%

Yeah same has been happening to me.

So far it doesn't seem noticeably slower than 7.1.2. I feel like my battery is draining a little faster, bit I'm also using my phone more.

There isn't any purple location icon next to the apps with location services enabled. Weird.

Runs pretty smooth, but jumped back to 7.1.2 because the jailbreak is better than iOS 8.

I found that with spotlight suggestions location on under main system services location menu the location arrow was always on. I turned that off and the arrow went away. Of course, I can't use spotlight as a yelp type service now.....

I reset the location and privacy settings and the arrow is now gone
But I need to reauthorise every app that requests to have my photos, contacts, location etc. from scratch.
