How is performance of Office 2016 standalone on 2014 macbookpro?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying standalone Office 2016 for my mid 2014 MBPro.

Does anyone know what's the performance like? Kindly suggest. Thanks

I'd imagine it's the same as the Office 365 version, which is fine.

There are several threads here reporting performance problems with Office 2016 that range from noticeable to serious. I was going to upgrade but am holding off until I see better results reported by other users.

I could get for free from my school, BUT.......even free software is not worth it if it breaks my Macbook.
