More than half this thread don’t know how to read the screen on time. The time reported isn’t your usage time from when your phone is unplugged. it’s based On the last 24 hours. This is how stupid Apple reports screen time and trick people thinking they have awesome battery life. Don’t get me wrong, the new iPhones do indeed have good battery life but not the 9+ hours people are reporting.
No it’s based on the actual day worth of usage. It will not show anything but using the phone when it’s on...there’s a reason it says 24 hours and day...it’s very accurate actually.
Quite correct not the 9 hours being reported. More like 22 hours. Just out of curiosity I set screen to never go off and set brightness to a low but usable level to see what results I could get on my 11 Pro Max.

Personally I don’t put much weight behind the battery readings and so on, I’m much more bothered about my real world day-to-day usage, which by and large, doesn’t vary much for me - I’m a heavy iPhone user I’d say, with Safari especially taking up most of my time, several hours worth a day. There’s a lot of standing around outside, smoking and faffing on my phone when I should be working, but to hell with it, I can make my own time 
What I can say is that my 11 Pro Max is the first iPhone I’ve owned which can actually get me through a day (4am to 11pm usually) without needing a top-up at all.
It’s sometimes down to the wire by bedtime, but it manages it. So I’m pretty much happy with battery life. When I’m on holiday and not using my phone as much, it can go two days without a charge, that’s pretty good going for me.

Can't use 24hrs if you haven't charge in two or more days so you have to add it up. I added mines and I'm getting around 9hrs screen on time
I had tried both iPhone 11 and Pro Max each for more than a week each. There’s no way iPhone 11 lasts longer than Pro Max, not even close. I’m a heavy user and iPhone 11 at best lasts about 30 minutes longer than last year’s Xs Max, but this year’s Pro Max just blows it out of water. ?? Took off charge at 2:07 AM at 100%. Left on for 25 hours, except once when accidentally turned screen off a few minutes. Ended test with 22% battery remaining. How is that wrong section?

Not sure why this chart shows the iPhone 11 at the top but in his Youtube video it is showing the 11 Pro Max as the winner in all of the tests.
Looks like I don't care how slightly uncomfortable my Max feels because on the size; I am keeping it just for battery life.

Sure looks to me like screen time is showing on for almost 22 hours. I was looking to see what max on time I could achieve while still being a useful tool. Don’t know where you got idea that 10 days gives more accurate reading. Can you sight your source?
More proof how irrelevant and anecdotal all these battery tests are. In some cases they contradict each other. I had both an 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max and they were extremely close to each other doing the same tasks side by side. There is absolutely no way the 11 Pro would show this low result for browsing while beating the other phones for gaming, etc. It's just inaccurate. I have a feeling some of these graphs are just made up LOL
Because 10 days actually gives actual usage stats. 24 hours numbers aren’t correct for the time you use the device. That will calculate time even when you are charging over 24 hours. Mine said i was on 5 hours, 30 mins screen time yesterday which was incorrect as it was actually 2 hours, 30 mins. During the time it said i was using it the phone wasn’t even active as i wasn’t even up that long.
screen time section is the most accurate screen time from my experience
I wish they would go back to the old screen time display. At least we knew exactly how much on screen time we got.
Thing is, on some occasions it is either impossible to get a “working number”, or you can get a rough estimate that will be almost surely off, because people don’t share accurate numbers with this new system (I assume it is because they don’t really know how it works, or because they can’t bother to do it properly).
For example: you unplug your device at 7 am and upload a screenshot - and only a screenshot - at 8 pm. You say “I got 5 hours”, but that includes the last 24 hours. Now, I can add up the last 13 hours, manually (and get a rough number, because I have to estimate the result from some bars, and that has a margin of error). That’s all I can do - and it will be the most accurate method - but there is another problem:
If you unplugged it two days ago, and share the same “last 24 hours” screen, the number I get is useless.
If you share the last 10 days, and you unplugged it two days ago at 8 pm, the number I get is useless, and I will have to either: not take into account the day you unplugged it at 8 pm, because it will include your prior usage on that day, potentially not including your usage 20:00-00:00; take it into account, potentially adding that prior day time, which isn’t accurate, because it isn’t included in the cycle.
I can get a rough number, but there is a difference between 4h 45 minutes with 50% remaining, and 6.5 hours with 50% remaining.
You either add everything up yourself, hour-by-hour, and share that number (that’s what I do), or share something either a little inaccurate, or totally useless.
Apple’s new system sucks because nobody shares it correctly. They just throw a screenshot that may or may not be useful.

Screen time is only accurate if you unplug your phone as soon as you start using it and plug it back in just before uploading the screenshot. If you deviate from that, it’s no longer useful.
Still doesn’t make sense to me. It reported near 22 hours screen on time numerically and using the screen time columns, which were both accurate. I know this because the screen was on for this entire time. I set screen to never sleep and other than once accidentally turning screen off a few minutes it was on. Also did not charge phone during that time.
I did this test to see how new phone performed in comparison with previous phone which got a little over 16 hours under same conditions.
I don’t use my phone set this way, this was a controlled test. In my regular use the new phone has excellent battery life. Under light to moderate use the battery lasts well into second day. With heavy use all day battery life is the usual.
Battery life has been so good for me that I have taken to charging only to 80% most times with rundowns to around 30% before recharging it, being the norm.
Using the 30 watt charger, recharge to 80% takes about 40 minutes. Am getting better than one percent increase per minute. I would like to see a feature switch to limit charging to 80%.
I’m very satisfied with the new pro max in all respects. Especially since being on Next program it is costing only a few dollars more per month than previous XS Max.

Incredible. Haven’t had battery life like this since I was rocking basic devices in the mid-2000’s.
I’ve had a good few 2 whole days+.
For context I had to charge my iPhone 7 three times a day rather often.

This is the first phone I have used where I don't need to see battery % even on the 2nd day as I know it will last me for 2 days..
