i´d like to put the question the other way around:
at what rpm rate can you hear the fan on the M4Studio Max ?

(regardless of how much load it´d take to get there. Just use TG pro or similar to force the fan to spin up)

Some feedback on this would be much appreciated
I can barely tell the fans are running at 1750rpm. I can tell because of the difference between 1000 and 1750. If you walk in the room after the 1750rpm has been activated, you couldn't tell me the fans were running.

Its not DEAD silent. There is a very, very, faint whir that comes from the machine, but when I say very faint, I do mean VERY faint. You need to concentrate to hear it so it doesnt distract whatsoever.
This is my first Mac Studio - my first Mac desktop for that matter, and I'm happy with it!

I've got the 16 core CPU / 40 core GPU M4 Max and the Mac Studio is DEAD silent. Even when I put my ear right next to the machine I hear absolutely nothing. I've got no other distracting sounds in the room like airconditioning either.

I got my 14 core M4 Max/36 GB/1 TB Studio on Saturday and ran a few CPU intensive tasks on it, but have not heard any noise so far. The room is pretty silent (no other machine running, not close to a window). The fan is clearly working (I can feel some air flow when I put my hand behind the Studio).
Performance is impressive to say the least. Very pleased so far ! (but will keep using / testing)

I got the same one with 512GB and I agree. It's very quiet. I did download TG Pro to see how loud the fans *could* be and uhh... Well, I hope that they never max out lmao.

My M1 Max Studio is inaudible unless you get within six inches of it. It's been like that since 2022. I never heard my M1 mini either. The Studio is overkill for basic office work, but, if you want to spend the money and get better cooling, it is an option.

If you want to save money, I'd suggest looking at an M1 or M2 Studio.
