HomePod How is the Homepods OS 15.5.1 update ?

Hi Guys,

I have 2 OG Homepods both on 15.5 I know there is an update available which is 15.5.1 but reading some news about it I am too scared to update it. Should I update my OG Homepods to 15.5.1 ?

Update went smoothly on my paired HomePods. I updated because the release notes stated it "addresses an issue where music could stop playing after a short time." Still having that issue.

I just use mine to play music and not as speakers for the tv. I don't ask much of Siri just simple stuff. The update was just dandy for me and didn't pose any problems in the way they are used to me.

People on Reddit are literally going mad with the new Homepod 15.5.1 after installing on their OG Homepods. It has made matter from bad to worse.

What are the general complaints? Nine OG HomePods and seven Minis all updated to 15.1.1 and I haven’t seen any issues yet (knocks on wood)

Gotchya. I haven’t seen any issues at all… yet. Past updates have certainly been pure misery for the HomePods but this one seems pretty stable for now. Can’t speak for anyone else though.

My paired minis have been uncharacteristically well behaved since this update.

A couple times I’ve had the music stop playing. Yesterday I had music playing and the quality suddenly dropped like going from FM to AM.
