hey guys,

after deciding to go for a macbook retina and a iMac for home use, the only thing really taxing for me will be CS GO on the iMac, i am wanting to know, the STOCK GPU how will it run CS on modest settings? I'm not looking for crisis at 4k here..

also, to note I'm going for the stock 5k iMac with a uprated storage to the 256 SSD (i don't use a lot of space)

I play CS:GO on my 5k iMac i5 with 395X (Windows under bootcamp, since everything else makes no sense to me)

I play on 2K resolution with all settings in CS:GO set to high and with AA filtering and such set to medium-high. On d2, inf, mirage, cache I get about stable 180-200 fps, which I consider to be fine. In smokes it drops to about 130. On new de_nuke, since they increased the number on polygons on a map, I have about 130-150 fps
I recently started playing on 2K resolution, however, everything on low, and I get stable 270 fps and I intend to keep it at these low settings for a time being.

1080p resolution is possible, but everything looks blurry and huge, I'd recommend going 2k.

P.S. Please don't start "what do you need 200+ FPS for when monitor can only display 60". I know, and, if you understood the mechanics of the game well, you'd know that you need the fps ;)

yeah, more FPS the better :)

i will look into res more when i purchase it, but i am more keen on decent fps than i am at crazy high resolutions.
