I don't think the fingerprints on the Midnight color are any worse than they were with the old black plastic MacBooks. They definitely show, but you just have to learn to ignore them or wipe it down regularly. I really like the Midnight color anyway.
oh man you brought back memories, i loved that macbook.

Mine is doing great. i clean it a lot...but I would have done that with ANY color, so it really is fine.

I was going to get the Starlight but a Midnight came up locally for a deal I couldn't pass up. You definitely can see the prints, but the laptop itself is gorgeous, and I don't think it's any worse than other matte finish dark laptops. I'm concerned about cleaning it too often; I don't want something like isopropyl alcohol to slowly wear the surface down to the point it exposes the silver underneath. Not sure if that's possible, but something I'd like to avoid.

I've also noticed that the surface being painted like it is, I don't think I can cover this one in stickers like I do most of my laptops without damaging the finish when removing them. So I may just end up covering it with a plastic snap on cover.

It is an anodized finish and not painted so as long as your stickers don't have a corrosive adhesive you should be able to put stickers on it. Static cling stickers are probably best but you can put a skin on these and those have adhesive so I think you should be fine.

I would not use alcohol for cleaning the laptop surface or screen. Any microfiber cloth should work as long as it is clean. An apple cloth would work too. You can use any cleaner with base of propylene glycol and it should be safe. Any cleaner with alcohol, ammonia I would avoid. The screen has an anti reflective coating and it can be worn off with harsh cleaners.
