On CNET someone said that not knowing the new pro refresh was coming that they'd bought a new laptop just days earlier.

Apple then issued him an email saying that since the laptop he ordered did not ship yet, they upgraded the one he ordered to the new model. Don't get me wrong, it is a great thing by Apple but is this standard procedure when ordering products just after their refresh? Do they upgrade the device without prior notice or without you choosing to? Interesting...

just on the forums today, i've seen at least one post of someone saying that apple did this, and that they confirmed it when he called them... (I can't find it to quote)

but it seems like it would make sense from their end. If they didn't, then people would just return them and re-buy with the upgraded specs...
