So far so good!

I will keep it till the all-new 2015 MBA

Two years update.

I did not upgrade it as the new MacBook fell short of my expectations. I don't know if the 2016 will but I will most likely keep my 2010 until it dies and or can't be repaired

2010 MBA 1.86 Ghz 4 GB RAM 256 GB SSD

My 2011 11" MBA is the best laptop I've ever owned. But after 5 years it's a bit slow sometimes, and I need a larger SSD and better battery performance. I have to baby it to get more than a few hours of work or carry the power adapter with me. So I'm waiting to see what Apple does with the MBA and rMB this year. I'd also like to move up to a Retina display.

I have two modern MacBooks, a 2011 11" Air and a 2012 13" rMBP. Between the two, I do much of my work on the Air; it is an absolutely wonderful little notebook. I have the base model (1.6GHz i5, 2GB RAM) with an upgraded SSD (256GB OWC), and it is a fantastic little performer! Even though it's going on five years old now, I have absolutely no complaints about its speed or abilities.

This thread is making me feel very good about my plans to keep my 2013 13" MBA for the next few years. It really is the best laptop (for me) that Apple currently offers. Hopefully within 2 years they offer a proper upgrade.

I had a 2010 13" MBA, but replaced it with a 2015 model because the battery was not doing well any more. Now it's great.

I got a 13" 2010 MBA with 4gb and 128gb SSD which is now only used for secondary tasks such as looking at this web page. The system will be the first to get 10.12 to try out as it's now a backup computer for trying new stuff on. I thought about selling it but I don't think it's worth selling on eBay for 350 bucks.

I still have my base model 11" 2010. (64gb,2gb)
A bit on the slow side, but still has its uses.
The battery life is down to about two hours or so, depending on what I am doing.
It is mostly replaced by an iPad Air 2, as I have a Mac mini for the heavier lifting.
I keep it around for the keyboard mostly which I love.(wish it were backlit!)

I found it runs much better on elcap than Yosemite, although I don't use it all that often.
Still a good laptop though, and does very well for its age..a good buy I think, have been really happy with it. And as I was only expecting to use it 3 years or so I feel I got more than my money's worth.
Thought about buying a new ssd and battery, but not really worth doing to be honest. Would rather put the money towards a new retina MacBook. (No pressing need for one, but maybe in a year or two.)

I still use a 2010 11". The 4Gb Ram and the SSD probably helped keeping it running up until now but its becoming increasingly sluggish. I suspect the SSD is not on the fast side.

But the battery is slowly killing it for me. I'm just waiting for a Skylake MBA to hit the buy button.

Sorry to disappoint but given the newest "update" of the 2016 MBA, you won't expect Skylake anytime soon...

Thats a shame. I fear the end is nigh for the MBA line. Sadly the MB is not a viable alternative to me as its too expensive, has a crappy keyboard and not enough USB ports. (Which I use on a daily basis)

Maybe I'll just get a Broadwell MBA and be done with it.

I have MBA 2012, just replaced my battery (now had been 8.5 hrs) and now ordering Ninja Stealth Drive for MacBooks from BASEQI to add another 128GB disk via SD card slot. Hopefully it can extend its life for another few years.
