Hi, given that the 15 Pro has a newer chip with more RAM than the 15 Plus, how likely will the Pro gain one more year of software and hardware support than the Plus? I know a few games can be run on the Pro not the Plus but I am not into gaming. Not sure if the up-coming iOS will require more RAM. 15 Plus has a larger battery so the battery may last longer than that of the Pro. However, 15 Pro has a "slightly more advanced?" chip with more RAM.

The iPhone 6S runs on maximum iOS 15. It recently got an incremental software fix update.
It’s a 7 year old iphone.
I wouldn’t worry about the longetivity of any of the iPhone 15s. You’ll be sick of all of them before software support runs out.

I'd say very likely due to the processor and RAM advantage.

The 15 Pro may get an additional major software update over the 15 Plus, but we’re talking many years away. The Plus will likely get support to 2027/28 at least.

I had a 15 Pro (great device) but the battery life wasn’t great for my usage so I got a 15 Plus. I’m in a 2 year contract so I’ll be getting the 17 Plus and the 15 Plus will be long gone and still be getting software support & updates for many years after 😄

Have never heard of support being tied to the chip which is being used. It has always been dependent on the initial release date of the product.

Honestly, it’s anyone’s guess. Apple has only been using different chips for the pro and non pro for three years (and the first year it was just an extra GPU core) which isn’t enough time for any of them to reach EOL so we’ll see in a few years 🤷

iPhone 7 users say hello.
