I got my AirPods Pro 3 in February. This is my first AirPods. I didn't have any sort of bluetooth earbuds before. I do have a JBL LIVE 650BTNC headphone which I purchased back in 2019 and it's still going strong nearly 7 years later as far as battery.

So was wondering what you guys' experience is with AirPods. I know the APP3 is the latest but if you have an older model you purchased a few years back, is it still working? How long can the batteries last on these tiny pods? Can you get 5 years out of them? (let's say around 12-16 hours usage a day).

300-500 charge cycles + ”calendar ageing” is my guess. Thats not five year for you, with two cycles a day.

My husband is using my airpods 1 that I bought about 5 years ago. They work great, mainly because I never used them. If you use them for that many hours, yikes, I can’t imagine them lasting much more than 18 months due to having the battery degrade.

I use two sets of AirPods all day for work. Management means lots of calls. Usually draining and charging them several times.

With this usage I usually see 2-3 years before battery degradation is noticeable. At which time I upgrade. I really like my AirPods.

I’ve got relatives using my old AirPods today (donated after a good cleaning) and they’re happy with them.
