Congratulations on your new phone. Yes, I think it should last you quite a while. After a couple years, it might be noticeably slower than the then current phones, but it should still work. Right now it's one of the fastest iOS devices ever, only iPad air 2 is slightly faster. Plus, the improvements in phone speeds may start to slow down as we have very mature products at this time.

You made a good choice as the fastest iPhone now will have the best chance to serve you longer. Enjoy your iPhone 6 and let us know what you think.

Really? Ive had my 5S since October 2013 and a little over a year later I am thinking of buying a new phone because its battery has completely gone to s#hit. Honestly, a phone with a premium price tag should last you longer than a year... I now am dependent on having a power source close to me cause my phone wont last more than 7 hours.

Yes, I care about the design. Take the 5S and 6 for example. Honestly, there wasn't much improvement in speed. The 5S is just as fast as the 6; had both of them. Don't get me started on the camera; 5S has a better camera in my experience. iOS 8 wasn't too good for the 5S that I had so I decided to upgrade. I'll probably look at Android again when it's time to upgrade in 2016. Those high resolution screens are very nice and I feel like the screen on my phone is dull. Hopefully Apple gives us more than 326 ppi (seems like a joke in 2015).

Do look at android, totally encourage you! Maybe it's just me, but I don't notice the difference in the screen that much unless I held both at the same time or right after each other.

I hope they'll upgrade the screen too though!

You're the first I heard that said the 5S has better camera than iPhone 6?

I hope that the 7 will be better experience, or the Android phone you might buy in 2016 ^-^.

Really? If you love your 5s, I am sure you can get the battery replaced?

How long did it used to last for?

Yeah it's supposed to last more than a year :\

There's a huge thread on this forum regarding the iPhone 6 camera being worse than the 5S. It has something to do with the camera's noise reduction.

By any chance, did you ugrade to iOS 8? It happened to my 5S. I ended up upgrading to a 6.

Really? I haven't come across it ^-^;;.

But yeah I noticed a lot of people commenting on the noise reduction being too much.

Paid for 6+ outright got an upgrade on deck for 6s+. May or may not though

Love the screen on my 6+ and having a blast despite IOS 8/1gb shortcomings. Jailbroken it's my baby!

Battery life is pretty awesome too (8.1.1)

Even if the 6S has better screen and a higher RAM?

Can you elaborate more on the shortcomings you're having?

I don't know why I am scared of the idea of " jailbreaking ". What extra does it actually give you?

Also do you believe after 8.1.1 the battery is worse?

IOS 8 just isn't as refined as 7.1 in my experience. Still better than 7.0 on 64 bit but that isn't setting the bar high.

Apps and tabs reload frequently. It could just be bad coding though time will tell.

The screen might be higher contrast or some crap but I'll bet it's still 1080p 5.5 and given a lot of panels are yellow or junk to my eyes I'm glad to have one I'm still wow'd by. Color profiles tweaked too it looks as delicious as a mobile screen can or has.

I have 50 tweaks installed so many reasons to Jb but flexibility and open IOS is the main reason for me. I don't like a locked down os that has lots of limitations and which default theme/ appearance looks meh to me.

Can't speak for 8.1.2 or 8.1.3 but my battery life is good is all I know. Coming from 6 it's a leap.

Oh you owned a 6? Other than the battery life, what else is a LOT different than the 6? How long did your 6 used to last for? What is your usage usually like?

Maybe it's just me being an over thinking person, but jailbreaking scares me for some reason xD. Ever faced any complications? I mean it's not supposed to work like that.

I guess when I get my hands on my own phone and actually live with it, I'll see if I feel the whole restricted, fenced garden people say about iOs.

I've been doing it since OG so I have no fear it's sort of a requirement for me at this point. I got lust for new hardware but didn't wait long for a Jb this generation and was just beginning to get frustrated. It's not for everybody but I'm well versed

Can't give you numbers it's just noticeably longer in my uses.

I like optical image stabilization too it helps with dark shots and reduces blurriness

Yeah exactly, not for everyone. I just don't want to mess up a phone because I played around with it. But I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your device to the max!

The 5.5" is just too big for me now. The normal 6 is big enough to handle and I am not the one for purses xD definitely doesn't fit in a girl's skinny jeans. I'll see where I put it when it comes. So getting the plus was going to be an endless nightmare of where to put it, where did I leave it. I am a little clumsy as well, so I could just lose it.

My fault not the phone's, but would have definitely bought the 6 plus. But the portability of it as important as the device nowadays for me.

Thank you ^-^!

Yeah honestly I'd say go with the size you want more than other things. I know some people who got 6+ for res battery and OIS but prefer smaller and I wouldn't make that compromise. Turns out I wanted bigger when I adapted to 6 and it didn't feel too much different than 5. Held onto it gave 6+ a whirl and got rid of my 6. The other differences were bonuses.

Yeah that's what I did. I wish I could get the battery of the 6+ though! Just from hearing about it, makes me jealous already xD.

Hope you continue enjoying your phone till your next update, it was nice hearing your opinion ^-^.

Yeah I am hoping to have it till the 7S-8 as well.

How do you like your 6+? Did you get used to the size different? I envy the battery life I had heard of. No bending for you, ha?

I meant, had it not been for Sprint slow data speeds, I would have waited for the 6+S.

No bending. At first, I got the T-Mobile 6+; paid full price. Then, I read here in the forum, the Sim-Free version was out. I had 2 days left on my return/exchange, so I exchanged it (for Sim-Free). I have a 5S too. I tend to reach for the 6+ because of screen comfort. I'm not phased by the size. I wish I can exchange my 5S for a 6 because I made the mistake of buying it with 16GB. I actually like the 6 also. Either 6/6+ would have worked for me. Enjoy your 6.

Did you update your 5S to iOs 8? Just curious because it seemed like people are having battery issues on that. If you didn't, how is it?

I understand the ability to carry a 5S and 6+, but 6 and 6+? A lot perhaps? But if you're capable of doing that by all means, go for it.

I bought 64 GB, hoping it will be enough. Only time will tell, but I heard the resale value of the 16 GB is always higher? Not sure though.

Thank you ^-^, hope you continue enjoying your device as well.

I expect it to last as long as any of the other iPhone. I'll use it for the next two years, and then when the iPhone 7 Plus comes out, I will get it, my wife will get my 6 Plus, and my son will get her 6.

I have done that pattern for years and all the phones make it through those several year cycles just phone.

That's a great pattern, everyone gets a newer phone every two years!

That means every iPhone you guys had lived about 4 years, right? Back to the iOs topic, did you ever encounter problems due to iOs updates that just didn't work for your older devices? Or do you kind of stop updating after a certain point? Or just till Apple says it's not compatible?

Just still curious about what people do, people that actually own the phones for 2-4 years.

Yes. And i still have a few of them for spares.

Oh damn! You guys either take reaalllyyy good care of the phones or the iPhones just age wonderfully, or probably the right mix of both!

Hope you continue enjoying your device ^-^!
