Down to 76% usage. 1 hour 21 minutes of usage. 2 hours and 7 minutes of standby..
All I've been doing is sending a couple of text. Maybe 30 minutes of iPod. A 5 minute phone call..
Completely unacceptable. No exchange accounts. Bluetooth off. Wifi off.
Majority of location services off.
Wifi sync is also off. I don't know what to do.. My iPhone 4 would probably still be around 90% right now..

Just dropped to 75% while typing this post

Turn off your cellular radio just to test it. If it stops dropping rapidly then you know some app or process is keeping your cellular radio transmitting.

@ 79% with 1hr32m usage and 4hr35min standby.

I'm not at all impressed by the battery.

This is me off a 100% charge from 6AM...includes about 40 minutes of moderate 3g usage, rest idle

usage: 1hr, 32min
standby: 3hours, 28 min

Battery at 75%...

Seriously bummed out here

After 100% charge and reboot (soft) it took about an hour to lose 2% on standby. Never using the phone.
After adjusting some settings (turning off most iOs5 features) with the only location service running being "find my iPhone" I ran another 45min in standby and batt level is now 91%.

Comparing this to a coworker's iPhone 4, he ran from 100% down to 91% in about 1hr 30min with light use. He does not have iOs5 installed.

I turned Find My Friends off and it's improved a lot already. Mine lasts me as long as I need it to. If you're battery is dropping massively overnight you must be using something that's draining it, such as location based reminders maybe?

And why don't you charge it overnight?

I'm trying to completely drain mine and charge it back to 100%, but right now I'm at 4 hours 40 minutes of usage and 1 day 22 hours of standby with 12% of battery life remaining. So far my 4S seems to be about the same as my 4

Sounds good I'm at 17 standby 3.25h usage at 26%

What were your settings like

Took my screen off auto set to about 1/4
Notifications on except push email
iCloud on

Usage is pretty much browsing

Hope to get 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

I have had no problems doing that with all four precious iPhones.

Made a lot of changes based on these posts.

I'm at 38% that's with a 1 day of standby and over 7 hours of usage I even did a full iCloud backup yesterday. From what I've been reading I guess I got lucky on my battery.

I have all notifications set to on but my email only checks every 15 minutes. Location services on, wifi on, bluetooth on. Most of my usage is web browsing.

My 4s is doing just as good as my 4. I can probably go a day and a half on a charge if I needed to. I use it throughout the day for a few minutes here and there for email and web, probably about 5 - 10 five minute phone calls. I also run an app that we use in my restaurant for taking orders and I use that a few times a day. I also have location based reminders in use.

If anyone here is getting battery life that is much worse then there 4 with the same general usage and you restored from a back up... you need to restore and set up as new.

That's awesome stats.... that's in 3G Data? Do you run/install Facebook, Twitter and other socials apps? do you use it?

I have Facebook always running in the background, was checking that as well and got maybe 40 notifications from FB throughout the day. Several SMS texts and iMessages as well. Mail app is checking three mailboxes, two IMAP and one Exchange ActiveSync. It's definitely got lots going on in the background.

As for data, yes 3G when outside and when inside at customer sites or my office it's always connected to wifi.

Even after only 2 business days using my new iPhone 4S I'm completely ok with the battery life. Like I said earlier, as long as it makes it a full day until I put it on charge at night I'm perfectly happy. I don't care if there is 5% left at the end of the day, it made it through.

"Went to bed with 40% woke up dead."
I died when I read this. Lol. I charge my phone for about 4 to 5 hours. It lasts for about a good 9 to 10 hours. Obviously I'm not using it 24/7 but I use Facebook, Instagram, texting, email, & music throughout the day. I don't use it when it charges throughout the 4 to 5 hours which is usually over night. I sometimes charge it overnight but i fall asleep around 1 or 2 & wake up at 6 so its the perfect timing to charge it. I'm happy with my battery life. When I'm busy all day & I barely use it, it lasts up to about a day & a half.
