On Saturday Apple said they were issuing an Express Replacement for my defective iPhone 16. It’s now Wednesday and I haven’t gotten a single update and nothing has shipped.

How long does it normally take to get an Express Replacement?
 
I’m sure there is supply chain issues, I’m currently waiting on an express replacement for a 16 pro max and don’t expect it for a few weeks anyways.
 
3 to 5 business days, is what they claim. Frequently it’s quicker but not always.

For iPhone 16s, it’ll be a while since it’s brand new.

When did you create your express replacement order? And the only “update” was the ticket being opened, right? No tracking or anything?

This process typically takes 1-3 business days to process before shipment.

Today is my 3rd business day, hoping to see an update later.

Why not just return it and repurchase within the 2 week window if there’s a defect?
Bought through carrier with a trade in. Would have been a nightmare trying to return and reorder AND still have my trade in processed since they shipped it away.

The only “pro” is I may get an unlocked phone? Not sure, but I would have definitely returned if it wasn’t purchased through a carrier with a trade in.
 
When I used express replacement for my iPad, they took a day to process the claim. The next day they overnighted me the replacement.

I have and they mentioned within 3-5 days.

I had an express replacement years ago and they processed it within a day. I’m going to guess they are slightly slower due to the phone being brand new.

I’ll give it another day or so.

I just did an express replaced on an iPhone 12 Pro max. Filed 9/21, shipped 9/23, received 9/24
Yeah, I’m coming onto my 5th business day tomorrow.

I have to wonder if it’s taking longer due to it being a 16 Pro Max.

Absolutely it is. I'd expect at least a couple or three weeks. "3-5 business days" is for products not just released within the last week, for the most part ;)
