How long does it normally take for AppleCare to register ?

I bought 2 AppleCare iPad protection plans.

Applied one to my iPad 2, and that registrered fine within minutes.

I applied the second to my 11 month old iPad 1 (10th June 2011 was the 12 month warranty expiration date), and 5 hours later the information on it still says "Registration in Progress"

Is this normal? Should it take as long as this?
