Right now I'm alternating between Clear And Present Danger and The Shining. I'll probably have them both finished by this weekend (of course, I am re-reading both for the I-dunno-how-many-th time.)

I generally don't like reading books after I've seen the movie because I have too much of the film in my head. I try to read the book first. But how is the Shining compared to the movie? In some cases I've heard its one of those rare occasions where the movie is as good as (or better) than the movie. But some how I can't see that being true!

You're an over zealous King fan aren't you? Kinda analogous to Twilight and teenage girls a little bit don't you think?

Uh what? What is your problem?

I've only read one Stephen king book in my entire life and I liked it, so I'm reading another one now. Relax buddy.

I've come to the conclusion that I can read most books at a rate of about 100 pages per hour. Unfortunately, this does not include textbooks.

It depends on the book :-\

Indeed. It takes me 2 minute to read "Dick and Jane" books. It took me 3 weeks to get through War and Peace (too long and the writing style is not very appealing). Anything by Terry Pratchett I finish in a couple of hours. He's my favorite author and his writing style makes reading so much easier and more pleasurable.

I remember reading Cry the Beloved Country in high school. Gawd, it took me over 2 months to worm my way through its 300 pages.:p It was required reading.:( I felt like driving a stake through my head each time I had to crack open the covers. The writing style is the worst I've ever had to endure.
