So I don’t use my ipad a whole lot, and noticed that even in standby most of the time, the battery depleted in less than a week. I found that by disabling iMessage that of course, it lasted significantly longer. I have a several year old iPad Air 2. By disabling iMessage, functionality really diminished.

If you don’t use your ipad a whole lot, how long does the battery last and what type of ipad do you have?

Reason for asking, if there’s a significant difference, I might consider upgrading. Thank you!

Your iPad might have other background tasks running or something not working as it should. Consider restarting every now and then to see if that has a positive impact on the battery. Also consider disabling WiFi if the device will lie around in standby for days.

I use mine daily and charge daily, so I can’t make predictions on how long the device would run in standby.

At the end of the day I don’t think the standby time is a reason to upgrade to a newer model.

That’s a good idea, disabling WiFi.

Mainly want the device to always be ready, but to not have to think about charging it. I’ll see if that helps, thank you!

I put mine in airplane mode when I’m not using it...it helps dramatically. Also, if you use hangouts(I use it for work) it KILLS battery life, both on my XS Max and my iPad Pro 11”

I have a 12.9 iPad Pro (1st gen) and while the battery health is around 75% at this point, for some reason, I'm still getting the 10 hours I was getting when I first bought this iPad.

iPad Pro 11” has extreme battery life, that’s all I’m gonna say lol. It last a lonnnggg time. My screen has been on 9 hours continuously today nonstop. most of that is from playing Ark survival on the Epic settings maxed out graphics, and I’m at 13% right now. “ New game fever”

It has never died on me, and I have never had to use this iPad plugged in ever never ever! Not one time have I needed to plug in power, to continue usage on my iPad.

I end up always going to bed first, and I plug it in with plenty of juice left. Usually 20-55% depending on what applications I ran that day.

If I ran a lot of PUBG, or Adobe Rush rendering 4K video it’ll be closer to 20% at bed time made just under 20%

If I just surfed the web all day, watching Netflix, usually shorter gaming sessions I will fall closer to 50% range when it is bed time.

The battery life is great, I cannot speak more highly about it!
