What’s the production cycle been like with Apple in regards to releasing a new design? With a 16” MacBook Pro coming in a 15” body I’m wondering how long until we see a 14” in the 13” body. Two things have kept me from going back to Apple this year. One being big bezels and the other being no splash resistant design. I picked up a Huawei Matebook X Pro that I’ve been using as a daily driver and love the design/keyboard. I was in India for a month and spilled a drink all over my 2017 mbp 15” and after that debacle I went with this spill resistant book and couldn’t be happier; except no MacOS. Would make the jump back but I’ve grown to love this thin and light form with no bezels and can’t stand using a MacBook Pro right now.

Redesigning the 13" into a 14" will probably happen inside of a year after the 16" debuts if past form holds true here (this is what happened when the debuted the retina machines). Splash resistance, in as much as no reliable source has mentioned it, doesn't seem to currently be on the cards.

A redesign is just a rumor at this point. If you need a Mac, but it now. Otherwise wait, although you might wait a while given Apple usually does Mac events in October should there be significant design changes.
