6 hours 38 minutes,

hey why does that app show to graphs for the processor? i assumed thats for 2 processor computer like the mac pro tower?

(and its double mine because i have 1)

8 days 1 hr 42 min.

On an almost, but not quite entirely unrelated note, I dropped my iPhone 3G in the bathtub today. I had placed it on top of a folded towel on a surface next to the tub and forgotten about it, grabbed the towel and saw something fly briefly through the air, landing with a sploosh and sinking like a stone. It took me about two seconds to process the information and realize what just happened before frantically trying to grab the phone, which due to its shape and texture was about as easy as grabbing a wet soap bar.

Bizarrely, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Works like a charm. Tried calling, syncing/charging, toying around.. It was completely submerged for a good 10 seconds (with no case) and should've taken in water, well, everywhere... headphone jack, 30-pin connector, mic... but it's like it never happened.

TURN IT OFF AND LEAVE IT FOR A WEEK!!!! the water may still be in it and working its way through the phone if you wish to keep it SHUT IT OFF, and you should be good =D

Mine hasn't been on for very long right now as I installed a program that required a reboot a while ago.

NO! :D

For a few weeks I've been thinking on and off about blowing money on an unlocked iPhone 4. Still undecided. So, rather than make up my mind I'll take this opportunity to let the phone do it for me. If the 3G succumbs to delayed water damage, I'll get the the 4. If it keeps working... alright then, I'll stick with it till next summer. ;)

but if you shut it off let it thoroughly dry out, sell the phone once its dried out for like $100 then that helps pay for the new iphone 4?

5d 1h right now, but that's because I had to run software update. I never shut down my powerbook because it takes over 6 min to boot.
Also, the little white sleep light lets me know it's still breathing because, going on six years, I keep expecting for it to not wake up.

You make it sound like a person :D

I can easily go weeks at a time... I end up restarting to occasionally boot into Windows (for Flight Simulator) -- other then that, I usually let it stay up for a few days then I'll shut it down.

current in the black, highest in the iStat. :)

btw, my IP address has changed

Wow, I didn't expect such a high uptimes for a laptop :)

I suppose you're using it as your desktop computer.

Are you using it in closed lid mode?

if you're referring to me, its an iMac. my MBPs max uptime would be somewhere around 40 days. it freezes up after that, 2GB RAM limit doesnt really help :(

7 days on my MBP.

Here are both my xserves.

Those security updates force reboots too often.

My MacBook gets turned off all the time, but my iMac goes longer (basically the interval between security updates) and my Mac mini server was over 2 months before I gave in and let it update.

We had a Windows NT 3.5 server at work in the late 1990's that ran 5 years without rebooting. That was before the days of security updates.
