How long have macbook pro's/powerbooks been aluminum?

Holy Crap! That has been out forever! Amazing they can keep the same design for so long (it is a good one, I will give apple that)

Any other comparisons aside, BMW kept the same design for about 5 years (or more, for the 3 series). In car years, that's an eternity.

My thought is product recognition.

And to add to that, the Titanium PowerBook G4s were manufactured from January 9th, 2001 until September 16th, 2003.

So we are looking at a major redesign in January (if every MBP and powerbook has been redesigned in January, then this makes sense.)

MacWorld is in January, so it's possible. I expect the MacBook Pro to at least have a redesign with Penryn and maybe they should go back to Titanium with a better latch or have black anodized Aluminum with the new redesign.
