How long have you been using Macs?

Been using Macs since 1993 when I purchased my first, a Performa 600CD, followed by a Bondi Blue G3 iMac in 1998 and this 17" G4 iMac in 2003. Yeah, I need a new Mac...

I was going to say I’ve got you all beat, but mine was in 1985 too. I remember when a 20 Meg hard drive was considered huge.🙂
 
I bought my first Mac, a so-called Classic, in 1991. Up that point I used a Commodore 64 at home, but I had used Macs in the workplace.
 
Bought my first one (a Macbook) my sophomore year of college. That was 06'. Since then, I've bought an iPhone 4, 3gs, 3g, first iPhone, an iMac 24", a MBP, Airport Express, 2 first gen Apple TV's, Apple battery charger, 3 wireless keyboards, 3 new Apple TV's, and have gotten family members to buy 3+ MBP's and 5+ iMacs.

Apple should pay me...




My family comes to me for their technical needs, because I sell software for a living. I always advise them to pay a little more and go with Apple.
 
Late 2007. Mac mini

Bought myself my first apple product in 2006 - iPod nano. Halo effect made me buy the mini.
 
I have been using macs on and off since kindergarten when these bad boys came out and the school got a bunch of them 🙂 It was really cool because the school had 4 or 5 different computer labs, and each lab had different coloured iMacs. I was always facinated with them because the CD drive was in the front and the entire computer was a monitor. Along with that, you could see inside the computer! As a kid, I thought that was the coolest thing seeing how it worked. My dad was a windows user so we had PCs at home. My mom used the first Macintosh when she used to work though, so she's always liked Macs.

I bought my own Mac in 2009 and have loved it ever since 🙂 I have been an iPod user since 2005 and an iPhone user for 2 months 😀

I've got a blue one of those iMacs, they're pretty neat but mine's very loud! 😉

Lucky you. I've only been using them full-time for 2.5 years. No plans to change that :apple:
 
Since 1987... What a step up from MS DOS that was!

I had all of my system files, applications (MacWrite, MacPaint & MacDraw) and documents on a single 400K floppy!
 
I had used an Apple IIe for like basic and some games, but my first Macintosh was the Classic FDHD with a 40 mb hard drive. It may have been 1991.

I have ALWAYS wanted one of those Macs! I would still most likely buy one if I found one brand new or close to brand new with all the accessories. They came out back before I even had a Windows machine 🙁 My parents didn't believe in computers and thought I only wanted one for games (even though in reality I wanted to be a programmer).

Anyway I've always been "apple curious" and used to play with them at Sams Club, although I was confused since I couldn't figure out how to right click 😉

Anyway I started using Macs in 2008 when Windows Vista was still pre-service pack 1. It was unusable to me due to the volume shadow copy error so I sold my vista machine and ordered a Macbook Pro. The rest is history. I've also got 6 friends, a sister, a brother in law, 2 parents, and 2 aunts and 2 uncles to switch to macs since I switched. (I just added one friend today, he got an iMac). I love Apple now and wish we used them at work (then again the reason I am employed at work is because we use Windows and I fix it 😀)
 
Less than a year for me as well. Bought my first Mac(MacBook) in August 2010. I have collected several more since then.
