24 hours a day - sleeping = music. can't run the timer as i don't use itunes. always, no that should be ALWAYS have music streaming.

i recommend and use mp3tunes.com for music. not for everyone i guess, but for $40 a year, they host my 130gb collection (all mine, all legal) and it is available to me anywhere on the planet i can get an interweb connection. and as an offsite backup, my music is also safe. life is good.

Hey, how come i've only just found this thread?

I remember making a little program in java that does some of this stuff. Sure it doesn't list the top albums/artists, but it tells me all I need to know.

These stats go back about 5 years.

What my program tells me:

Total Songs: 5806
Total Play Counts: 41848
Total Library Play Time: 18 days, 12 hours, 21 minutes 40 seconds (18:12:21:40.966).
Total Listening Time: 113 days, 23 hours, 9 minutes 39 seconds (113:23:9:39.473).

I'm really worried about doing this! I keep my iPod in a dock wired to my sound system. It's pretty much always pumping music out too. I'll give it a go when I'm back in OSX :)

What's the difference between library play time and listening time?

Library Play Time is the total playtime of all your songs played back to back. Total Listening Time is total of each song multiplied by their play count. So basically how much time you have spent listening to your music library.

i think he made the program himself. i was curious to see it and all.

There isn't anything to see. I only did it to satisfy my curiosity about my total listening time. It's is just a java program that runs from the command line. No GUI. I really couldn't be bothered.

If you still want to have a look PM me.
