It has been running for over 2.5 hours and progress bar is sitting at 1 cm. Should I force shut down it?

Like any other update, really.

No, two and the half hour is not normal. it is highly possible that something caused the installer to hang, therefore it’s maybe never gonna finish.

If I were you, I would try to force quit and then try again.

I forced it shut, turned on and it's sitting there, unmoving as before. I can't Even access my Mac anymore. Just Apple logo and progress bar.

Used cmd+alt+P+R and that got progress bar to move, but now it's stuck. It won't even let me enter Safe Mode. Depressing if I really have to take it to repair because one update...

Any luck, or still stuck?

Still stuck. Tried forcing it shut, tried restarting with Safe Mode or Recovery Mode, but it won't let me. Just keeps installing. And install bar is full, yet nothing happens. And so for last 4 hours. I've been trying to solve this mess for 6 hours, after it ran 2.5 hours. So 8.5 hours together.
