I have my XSM and my 11PM side by side. ‘Finish on New iPHone” is on the old phone and ‘activating’ on the new. It’s been in that status for more than 30 minutes now. Seems like quite a long time to activate.

Maybe I’m just being impatient? Does it have to fully transfer all data before it activates?

Mine did not. It activated in a minutes time. Maybe the activation servers are just getting slammed?

Pushing an hour now. At what point do I restart the phone and try again? Or do I risk bricking it if it is in the process of activating?

I lost patience, so I stopped transfer on my old phone and shut down the new. The second time, the activation took a minute or less.

After 40 mins I shut off and tried again and it took a minute-Verizon

Exactly what I did and it went through just fine. Of course now it’s telling me that my phone-2-phone transfer is going to take “about a day”.

You’re copying directly from your old phone rather than a backup? iOS told me that option would take about 2 hours to complete on my phone. Maybe longer if you don’t have the phones plugged in and one of the batteries dies.

Yes. It ended up only taking about 2.5 hours for a little over 300GB. Pretty smooth process once I got it to activate.

Mine is continually getting stuck after it says "swipe up to upgrade" and then it just stops with the smallest sliver left. I waited like two hours multiple times and have no idea what else to do.

If I'm doing the phone to phone transfer and I need to leave for work before it's finished, will it fail when it looses wifi or is the phone to phone a bluetooth thing?

Curious about this one too. Phone activated fine, data transferred ok, but now I’m waiting on the white Apple screen with a slow progress bar. Trying to figure out how patient I need to be haha!

Same here. Hard re-booted once and still counting...Up to 3.5 hours. I do have 200GB of music on phone, could that be the long transfer time?

Mine went through phone to phone transfer fine it just whatever else is installing or updated that is taking forever. Never had it take this long.

So I did the phone to phone transfer for my first time. I am on T-Mobile. The transfer went ok but my new phone shows absolutely no hint of activating even though it does say "T-Mobile" at the top. I tried to make a call and it send me to T-Mobile. My old phone is still active.

Do I need to swap my sim card? Or wipe my old one first?
